Bengal Cat 4 Sale
LAHORE: The Lahore Safari Zoo is auctioning off a dozen lions to private collectors next week to free up space for a pride that won’t stop growing. The zoo now has so many big cats that their lions and tigers have to take turns accessing the paddocks, said Tanvir Ahmed Janjua, the zoo’s deputy director. “Not only will we free up more space here, but our expenses for meat to feed them will also decrease,” he told AFP. The zoo is currently home to 29 lions, and officials plan an auction on August 11 to sell 12 of them, aged between two and five years old. There are also six resident tigers and two jaguars. Conservationists are opposed to the sale, with the environmental group WWF saying the creatures should be moved to other established zoos, or breeding females sterilised or given contraceptives. “Animal exchanges and donations between zoos are a widely accepted practice,” the organisation’s Uzma Khan told AFP.

after Gerald’s death, the Minster bells chimed in his memory - and the Dean of York even gave permission for the cat to be buried in Dean’s Park. In the hours that followed the announcement of his death, Justine who lives near the famous cathedral, received messages from people across the globe and a campaign to immortalise him followed. Hundreds of pounds were raised for the new statue of Gerald and sculptor, Anthony Bartyla, founder of The Raven And The Hare Stone Carving in York, was appointed. Anthony studied photographs and learned about the way Bengal cats move and walk, then created a clay model of Gerald. Anthony’s friend Mike Marley, a member of the Press Camera Club, photographed him at work. Once completed, the statue was unveiled by acting legend, Mark Addy, in April 2021 outside the Cat Gallery in the city, which Justine described as a “special” moment for everyone. York-born acting talent Mr Addy addressed those watching the unveiling with the words: “It’s my great pleasure to unveil Gerald. I’ve not seen him, very few people have.” In December last year, a calendar featuring photos of Gerald went on sale to raise money for York Rescue Boat, free bengal kittens

Less than 10,000 clouded leopards are believed to be living in the wild. "Clouded Leopard (Neofelis nebulosa) is a big cat species found in India. Its range is very limited and only in a few pockets of dense forest it has been documented in the country. Buxa is one such place where you can find clouded leopards also. There have been many pictures captured by camera traps in recent times. Sharing one such clear camera trap picture captured recently from Buxa Tiger Reserve," the West Bengal forest department said in the caption of the photo uploaded on Thursday. The photo of the majestic big cat was liked by many social media users, including Indian Forest Services (IFS) Parveen Kaswan, who reshared it. "Absolutely amazing," a Facebook user commented on the forest department's post. Others found the photo "fantastic". The clouded leopard population experienced a sharp decline in the second half of the 20th century as a result of poaching and deforestation. They are said to be nocturnal, arboreal, and predators of small mammals. According to West Bengal Tourism Department, the Buxa Tiger Reserve was created in 1983 and got the status of a national park in 1992. The tiger reserve bengal kittens for sale under $500

reunited with Rowdy on Saturday.BOSTON After roaming Boston's airport for three weeks, a beloved family pet is due to be reunited with her family. Rowdy, a black cat, escaped from her kennel upon her family's arrival aboard a Lufthansa flight on June 24. Massachusetts Port Authority (Massport) spokesperson Jennifer Mehigan said the feline had been roaming the airport ever since. "Whether out of fatigue or hunger we’ll never know, but this morning she finally let herself be caught," said Mehigan. The effort to catch Rowdy was extensive, Mehigan said. "Searching for Rowdy became a community effort, with everyone from construction workers to airline staff constantly on the lookout hoping for a positive outcome," Mehigan said. "Massport staff set up wildlife cameras around Terminal E in areas she had been seen as well as safe release animal traps. Massport was also contacted by multiple animal organizations offering their assistance." Rowdy's health will be checked by the Animal Rescue League before she is returned to her family, Mehigan said. Patty Sahli, Rowdy's owner, said her Bengal mix has always been curious but she never expected her 4-year-old cat to make an escape onto the tarmac at Logan Airport. Sahli and her.

creatures. Zoo veterinary officer Muhammad Rizwan Khan told AFP an initial attempt last year to auction lions fell through as potential buyers lacked the necessary documentation or licences. Nouman Hassan, who fell foul of authorities in the past when he was filmed walking his pet tiger on a leash in Lahore, plans to take part. “I will try to buy two to three lions for sure,” he told AFP, adding the auction was a good way to diversify the gene pool for private collectors who already owned a big cat. With little legislation to safeguard animal welfare, zoos across Pakistan are notorious for their poor facilities, but the Lahore Safari Zoo is considered one of the best, set over 200 acres. In April 2020 a court ordered the only zoo in the country’s capital to shut after poor facilities and mistreatment of the animals there were revealed. The facility had drawn international condemnation for its treatment of an Asian elephant named Kaavan, who was later airlifted to retirement in Cambodia in a jumbo project spearheaded by US popstar and actress Cher. Veterinarian Khan said the animals at Lahore Safari Zoo were being given the best possible care - something reflected.

understanding, but you might enjoy harnessing it to better understand your pet. Like humans, you can look to your cat's birthday to pinpoint their sun sign, which gives intel on their core identity. (If you happen to know what time they were born, you can even go further and calculate a whole natal, or birth, chart for them.) If you adopted your cat, that exact birth date could be rather elusive, but there's usually astrological significance to their gotcha day as well, so you could go with that. And from there, you could pinpoint why they're so chatty (they're a Gemini, ruled by Mercury, the planet of communication!), daring (perhaps they were born under fiery Aries), or aloof (they're an intense Scorpio). Here's what your cat's zodiac sign says about their personality. Aries (March 21-April 19)
