Wall Maze For Cats
Cats are everywhere on the internet. They’re the subject of memes, card games and even have their own day. But in the world of video games, felines have been criminally underrepresented. Projects starring cats are few and far between, and those games haven’t really stood out until now. “Stray” has captured players’ hearts and emerged as the game of the summer. It’s a third-person or perhaps I should say third-kitty adventure game, where players take on the role of a nameless feline that’s separated from its friends after making a bad jump and falling into a mysterious underground facility called Walled City 99.

AN EPIC JOURNEY WITH HELPThe cat’s goal is to return to its friends, but it will have to venture through the dilapidated streets and apartment buildings of the seemingly deserted city. All that’s left are robots, which have sentience and act almost like people, and cute but voracious creatures called Zurks. It’s a bizarre situation that the cat has to navigate, but as players venture through the campaign’s 12 chapters, they’ll cat bridge

only pellets, but crosses that act as power-ups. Crosses give the dragon fire breath to use against the demons in the maze. Tamagon also must watch out for the moving boundaries of the maze which can pinch him between walls. The ultimate goal is to collect bibles and seal them so the devil, relegated to the top of the screen, cannot take them. Devil World is on the Wii's Virtual Console in Japan, but NOA has been mum on the game's chances in America.

Known as Munchkin on the Philips Videopac, KC Munchkin for the Magnavox Odyssey2 was an attempt to cash in on the Pac craze in 1981. The pellets in the mazes actually move in this game, offering a slightly new take on the Pac formula. The ghosts are just monsters in this clone and after being eaten, they emerge from a box at the center of the maze that rotates. Philips' Munchkin actually beat Atari's Pac-Man port by a year, so Atari sued Philips to stop sales. Atari won the case on appeal and Munchkin was pulled.

the shop. The first level is a sprint to the finish line, but the game immediately makes things more complicated. You first don some red shades, which give you a button for turning on and off chunks of red landscape. Two more colors soon join the show. As the levels increase in size, you end up with a crazed, tense dash for survival, juggling bits of landscape via delicate finger choreography that’d impress even the finest flautist. The game can be frustrating, and larger levels need quite a bit of trial and error, but this game’s charm and innovation ensures its spark won’t die for the duration.
Hoggy 2 Hoggy 2 (opens in new tab) is a platform puzzler that feels like it’s escaped from a Nintendo console. The premise involves the evil Moon Men kidnapping the children of the blobby heroes. You must find where the kids have been hidden, somewhere inside a massive maze full of jars. Each jar houses a bite-sized challenge packed full of platforms, enemies, traps, and fruit. Eat all the fruit and you’re awarded a key. Collect enough keys to unlock new areas of the maze. The platforming bits are frequently deviously catastrophic cat bridge

this loophole existed in the first place.” What they might say next: PoliticsHome’s Adam Payne and Sienna Rodgers have heard that Labour is preparing to make several policy announcements on the cost-of-living crisis, with Starmer poised to make a speech “as soon as early next week.” No rush, eh? Their sources insist the plan was always to unveil the policy after the latest forecasts, and accuse the Lib Dems of working with out-of-date figures. Open goal: There’s some attention-grabbing polling from Ipsos, which finds voters think a Labour government led by Starmer is more likely than a Conservative government led by Truss to deliver in 12 of 13 areas asked about. Starmer’s Labour has the biggest lead on improving public services (13 points), reducing NHS waiting times (12), leveling up (12), fresh start (10) and cost of living not far behind (9). Fearful symmetry: Ipsos’s Keiran Pedley observes there are a few parallels between now and 2007-08: “Change in PM, big crisis & opposition ends up in coalition a couple of years later (having overturned a chunky majority). Question is will Starmer seize the moment.” Brown attempting to seize the moment instead has a kind of revenge narrative, given.

Rocket launched: The Mail, Times and Telegraph all go big on a warning by the police watchdog that victims are being routinely failed by the police’s “dire” response to burglary, robbery and theft even though it “isn’t rocket science.” Officers are not doing basic duties such as gathering CCTV evidence, conducting house-to-house inquiries, giving crime prevention advice and keeping victims informed, according to chief inspector of constabulary Andy Cooke. Here’s the Times’ version. Not the ticket: Transport for London services could be slashed to a bare minimum within days if ministers do not sign off on a new funding deal, London Mayor Sadiq Khan told My London’s Josiah Mortimer. Never-never: A decision on whether to go ahead with a new coal mine in Cumbria has been delayed for a second time, with the new deadline set for November 8, the BBC’s Chris Mason and Christina McSorley have discovered. and control. It allows integrators to implement the user’s HDMI camera of choice, including auto tracking cameras, without needing an AC outlet at the camera, and to mount the camera anywhere without restrictions. Using a single CAT cable, they transport 4K video, bi-directional LAN and RS232, and 2.5A of 12V power to drive a camera at the far end. A single outlet at the receiver end can power the transmitter, receiver, and camera, eliminating the need for a far-end outlet. This means integrators have greater freedom to install the cameras users want – even the most advanced 4K HDMI cameraswherever they are needed most. They also significantly lower the cost of installing a camera and eliminates the obstacles associated with getting power to a camera. The right matrix switcher can take advantage of HDBaseT’s Lite version for simultaneous transmission of video, audio, and control signals up to 230 feet or 70 meters. We’ve introduced one that includes four HDMI 2.0 inputs and four sets of mirrored HDMI & HDBaseT Lite outputs, and can be controlled via bi-directional IR, RS232, and TCP/IP commands for great versatility in placing controllers wherever most convenient for the system. Typically, a switcher requires a controller.

had already been shuffled from a Jane and Finch motel to a Humber College dormitory. Regent Park was better than the earlier spots, Ahmed said at least there, they lived in a proper unit. It felt less temporary. Still, losing their home cut deep. “I’m overwhelmed,” Ahmed said before moving to Regent Park. “It’s just the displacement of it … the unknown of how long I’m going to be homeless.” Tammy Whipe and her two teenagers were in Regent Park, too, having come from the York dorms like Ramos. “It’s been a complete mess,” she said one afternoon, while waiting for an update on a long-term lease in north Scarborough. The process felt slower than it should, and she had questions that weren’t being answered. The Regent Park unit was fairly clean, Whipe acknowledged. But after what happened in Swansea, she found herself noticing small problems more acutely. She wasn’t the only one. In her York dorm room, Ramos had been staring at part of the ceiling that seemed to bulge out. “Is that a crack?” Engineers who inspected Swansea Mews after the May 27 collapse said the fault in the ceiling had likely been present since the complex.

“Pretty soon, I know they’re going to try to muscle me,” Smith said. Once the relocation is over, each former tenant will have to adjust to a new life new schools, different commutes and unfamiliar walls around them. For Fisher, one moment symbolized that break from her old life in Swansea Mews. “It’s still my home until I give the key back,” she said, looking around on moving day as her boxes were sealed and carried out the door. “I’ll be giving the key back last.” SHARE: JOIN THE CONVERSATION Anyone can read Conversations, but to contribute, you should be registered Torstar account holder. Elephants in Sri Lanka.
I am not usually one for beach holiday destinations. But Sri Lanka was full of surprises. I was there in 2017, on a dreamy work assignment that involved reviewing two luxury resorts. But, to tell you the truth, I do not remember all that much about the accommodation - there was so much to see and do that I barely set foot in my oceanview suites. Starting from Colombo, we made our way down the west coast of the teardrop-shaped island nation, finishing in the southern beach town of Tangalle. In a few days, we went from landscapes of lush, emerald countryside, to golden, palm-fringed beaches. We whizzed around bustling towns on brightly coloured tuk-tuks, explored ancient temples, and sipped “virgin white tea” - untouched by human hands - at grand old tea estates.
