Cats Eating Corn On The Cob
How cute are those two faces? Meet Lulu and Yogi. They're a couple of Shih Tzus from right here in Owensboro, Kentucky. I met them a couple of years ago when I randomly bought a patio box from their mom, Tracy. Now, I didn't really know Tracy or the dogs before I went over to their house to pick up my purchase. Then again, I literally never meet a stranger, so it didn't take long for me to plop down on the porch, start talking and stay for about two hours. The dogs are ADORABLE!! And so is this video. Just a couple of days ago, Tracy shared a video of Lulu and Yogi. In it, they were chowing down on some corn and they were eating right off the cob. WATCH! Now, how absolutely hilarious and random is this? I had zero idea that filming dogs eating corn on the cob was so popular. When I was sharing this video of Lulu and Yogi, I fell down the proverbial rabbit hole on YouTube and stumbled across several videos of other dogs doing the exact same thing. Who knew? Here's a golden retriever doing it! As if the adult golden cat eating corn

Corn cob
Photo by Kelsey Hansen / Food Styling by Greg Luna / Prop Styling by Stephanie Hunter A hot ear of corn can be hard to hold, made even more challenging when it's slippery with melted butter. Although humans have fared just fine using just their fingers to eat corn on the cob, history has seen a dizzying number of inventions that assist in the corn-eating experience. One of the earliest patents for a corn-holding accessory was obtained in 1897 by Mary Donnelly, who invented the "Corn-Fork," which had a pacifier-shaped handle and three sharp prongs to stick into a cob. A man named Carl Bomeisler patented a corn holder in 1909 that looked like a mini sword, with a blade to wedge into the corn and a handle engraved with kernels. In the 1950s, Bomeisler's design morphed into the corn holders that can still be seen at barbecues todaythe yellow plastic ones that look like mini corn cobs, with cat eating corn on the cob meme

upside is that there's a corn-ucopia of corny options to choose from. Story continues Of course, if you really want to keep your fingers clean, the best solution is probably the one that copywriter and author Lillian Eichler Watson captured the core of corn-eating etiquette in her 1921 book, The Book of Etiquette, preferring, when all is said and done, to eat her corn off of its cob: "Corn on the cob is without a doubt one of the most difficult foods to eat gracefully ... It is entirely permissible to use the fingers in eating corn, holding it lightly at each end ... Many a foresighted hostess, when serving corn on the cob, provides each guest with a short, keen, steel-bladed knife with which the kernels may be cut from the cob easily. This is by far the most satisfactory method." of fin club: Don't keep goldfish in bowls. They need a good-sized aquarium, one that holds 75 to 100 gallons. Surprised? Goldfish can grow to be well over a foot long, and it's a myth that goldfish kept in small bowls or tanks will stay small. So give them space. They also need a good water filtration system and frequent partial water changes to keep their aquatic environment clean. Finally, don't overfeed them. Give only the amount they can finish eating in a couple of minutes, once or twice a day.Q: I know there are foods that dogs shouldn’t be fed, but I can’t remember them. Can you tell us what they are? Answer: There are lots of foods that are great for humans, but not so great for dogs. Onions, garlic and chives can cause gastrointestinal irritation, according to the ASPCA’s Poison Control Center, and can lead to anemia if eaten in large quantities. “Although cats are more susceptible, dogs are also at risk if a large enough amount is consumed,” according to the ASPCA. Canine Journal advises. “If you notice your dog pooping all over the place, and see a bunch of seeds or pits in their waste, you’ll need to break out the saw and chop down some trees.” The leaves from potatoes, rhubarbs and tomatoes contain oxalates, which can be dangerous to pets. As for what dogs can safely eat, “certain vegetables like carrots, green beans, cucumber slices or zucchini slices all make great treats for your dog,” according to the Canine Journal. “Vegetables make great low-calorie snacks and good training tools, as well. But stay away from canned and pickled vegetables as they contain too much salt.” And such fruits as bananas, apple slices, strawberries, blueberries and watermelon are OK, though the melon should be seedless. Other foods to keep away from dogs include chocolate; coffee; colas; alcohol; macadamia nuts; yeast dough; milk; salt; gums and candy, which can contain a sweetener called xylitol; baby food; cat food; and human snacks, which often contain dangerous ingredients for animals, such as onion or garlic powder on chips, or raisins, chocolate and macadamia nuts in cookies. on. “It has these interesting honeycomb scales that fall off as it ripens,” she says in the video that has been viewed more than 7.4 million times. There is one caveat, however. “Unripe, the fruit contains calcium oxalate crystals that can cause a burning sensation in your mouth and throat, so make sure to eat it ripe to avoid getting burned.” Lydia Keating, an influencer who heads up the so-called “Fruit Gang,” put Monstera deliciosa to the test in a July 28 video (viewed over 39 million times) after being “intrigued” by Miami Fruit’s claims. “It’s an interesting shape, it has a nice kind of curve,” she says after pulling three unripe pieces of the fruit out of a box. “She did say the honeycomb is supposed to flake off if it is ripe,” she says. In several follow up videos she continues documenting the ripening process, trying it on August 3, demonstrating that the honeycombs were finally falling off. “Oh my god,” she exclaims, biting into the flesh. “The flavor is actually insane. I’ve never had a fruit that tastes like this. The flavor is like, you go on a journey,” she continues. “You start sweet, and then you.

and help protect against certain kinds of cancer, according to the National Institutes of Health (NIH). Both Gans and Hancock confirm that eating the fruit prior to reaching full ripeness, before the outer scales fall off, could cause an unpleasant reaction. “It contains calcium oxalate crystals, which can cause irritation and burning inside your mouth, tongue, and throat, as well as itchiness on the skin, face, and scalp,” Gans explains. Hancock has firsthand knowledge of this. “I’ve had the experience of getting too eager and eating too far into the fruit. It’s not pleasant,” he says. Gans adds that you might also experience digestive side effects, including diarrhea, nausea, and vomiting, due to the calcium oxalate. “When the fruit is ripe, the calcium oxalate dissipates,” Gans says. Also, while the fruit is generally safe for human consumption, Gans maintains that dogs and cats should not eat it. How Can You Try Monstera Deliciosa Fruit? So, will your houseplant grow the TikTok-famous fruit? Hancock says it’s unlikely. While Monstera deliciosa is the most common Monstera species grown as a houseplant, and may produce flowers, it needs to be pollinated to make fruit. “As a houseplant, Monstera rarely gets large enough or.

the cob in the air fryer Air fryer corn on the cob could not be easier (or faster!) to make, and requires three simple steps. 1. Shuck corn. While the air fryer heats up, shuck the corn. If needed, cut each corn in half to fit in the air fryer in a single layer. 2. Season corn. Rub each piece of corn all over with olive oil and sprinkle with kosher salt.

3. Cook corn. Air fry corn until tender and slightly charred around the edges, 6 to 8 minutes. Since air fryer corn on the cob cooks so quickly, it’s a good idea to make this the last thing out of your dinner spread that you cook. I like to let it cook while I’m bringing everything to the dinner table and plating the rest of the meal. This ensures the plate of corn is still steaming when it’s time to eat. How to serve air fryer corn on the cob Whether you serve air fryer corn on the cob as is, or slick it with melted butter and a shower of salt, it makes a classic summer side that’s easy to partner with.
